Sza Snubbed at 2018 Grammy Awards

By: Kevin Wiggins

Sza was the most nominated woman at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night but, SZA didn’t win any awards.

She was nominated for Best R&B Song, Best R&B Performance, and Best Urban Contemporary Album, all of which weren’t shown during the televised version of the awards, as well as Best Rap/Sung Performance and Best New Artist.

So okay, let’s talk. Sza’s song “The Weekend” was the song of the summer. Her album “CTRL” was iconic.

I think it’s safe to say she was snubbed.

Not to down play any Grammy Award winners, but Alessia Cara, who won best new artist, could never touch Sza in terms of talent.

Sza may not have gotten a Grammy this time, but she did have two commercials air on Grammy night. She starred in the Gap’s 50th anniversary commercial along-side popular rap artist Metro Boomin. She was also a part of MasterCard’s “Don’t Judge a Book” commercial.

All in all, in my opinion, Sza was the unsung hero of the Grammys.
